NEW FOR 2016 - Gregg Wallace
Gregg Wallace is our VIP Guest at Countryside Live 2016. Gregg will be at the show on both days, taking part in judging our cook-off at the Cookery Theatre and our cheese and beer tasting and apple show. There is also the opportunity for visitors to attend 'An Audience with Gregg Wallace' which is an exclusive ticket only event, taking place at 3pm each day. Gregg Will be giving a talk followed by a question and answer session and the opportunity for autographs and photographs. View a full timetable here.
NEW FOR 2016 - Tasting Hub (Hall 1)
Visit the Tasting Hub in Hall 1 and find a host of activities including:
- Cheese & Beer Tasting - Learn more about how to pair Yorkshire cheese with Yorkshire beer. You can also have a taste too! Gregg Wallace will be sharing his favourites with you too.
- Apple Tasting - To celebrate National Apple Day - get the chance to taste and choose your favourite apple. Gregg Wallace will also be choosing his favourite.

NEW FOR 2016 - Young Shepherd of the Year Competition
Organised by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Regional contests have been held in the run up to Countryside Live, young shepherds will be battling it out for the championship titles with classes for 8 to 12 years and 13 to 16 years. This is the final of a series of heats which have taken place over the last few months at shows around the country. There is a “last chance” heat at Countryside Live on Saturday for those who have yet to qualify, together with showing classes for native sheep breeds. The Grand Final of the Young Shepherd of the Year competition take place on Sunday.

Northern Show Cross Series Final
Countryside Live is delighted to host the final of the Northern Show Cross Series final. Show Cross consists of a round of showjumping, followed by a round of cross country jumps to be completed clear in the fastest time. The competition will take place in the main ring on Saturday and Sunday. There are four classes running across 11 qualifying competitions between April and September.
Diggerland Experience - BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – AGAIN!!!
Come and try out your skills on some of the Diggerland machines! £2 per go or £3 if you choose to go on both rides (diggers & dump trucks)
A great opportunity to have a go at climbing - £4 per person.
Experience the site, sounds and smells of this traditional, but essential skill.
Talented Show Jumper Competition
Entries from around the Country will compete to win the coveted title of Talented Show Jumper.
Have a Go: Archery
Time to get hands-on with a country past-times: Archery. Try your hand at being "Robin Hood" and strike a bullseye in our have a go Archery. £3 a go.
Equine Classes - Ridden
With a dedicated equine ring you can watch horses and ponies all day long! We've a selection of ridden classes plus working hunter classes. We're proud that the Mountain & Moorland Ridden Section are once again Olympia qualifiers.
Come and see & find out more about some of Britains rare native breeds. Breeds for 2016 will include: Golden Guernsey & Bagot Goats and Clydesdales.
Birds of Prey Demonstrations
Ben Potter will be joining the line-up at Countryside Live with his amazing birds of prey demonstration. A static display of birds will also be available to see.
Cattle & Sheep
Countryside Live aims to be Yorkshire's premier fatstock event in the autumn - you can see the best quality cattle and sheep in their dedicated rings on both days of the Show. If you'd like to exhibit you can view our schedule here when it goes live.
Countryside Live provides a great opportunity to bag some early Christmas gifts with some fantastic trade stands for you to peruse!
Pigeons & Poultry
On Saturday see a selection of fancy fowl in our Pigeon Pavilion and on Sunday view pretty poultry in the Poultry Pavilion.
The Sheep Show
As featured by BBC Radio 2 Chris Evans Breakfast Show, this fashion show for sheep takes catwalk modelling to a new level with Nobby the Norfolk, Lenny the Lincoln Longwool and friends strutting their stuff, and look out for the popular sheep show shuffle!
