Archery and alpacas are two of the new attractions which visitors to the 2010 Countryside Live event can enjoy. In addition, a new competition to find Yorkshire’s most talented show jumper makes its debut* as part of the line up for the region’s popular hands on experience of rural life.

Now in its eighth year, Countryside Live promises something for all the family and an excellent snapshot of rural life. The two-day event, which takes place on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October 2010, is the perfect place to experience a mix of the best of rural life, with some of the region's finest food, alongside fun hands-on attractions. The show is held at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, with many of the activities taking place inside the exhibition halls.

Final preparations will be underway for this weekend’s Countryside Live, including cattle and sheep which will be arriving from Thursday evening (22 October). The majority are expected to arrive on Friday. They will be checked in and weighted, and their owners will then be busy getting them ready for the classes the following day.

With only days to go until Countryside Live, the number of tickets sold in advance for the event has broken all records. Ticket sales number 1,902 compared with the previous best – last year’s figure of 1,876, the organisers have announced.
